Ready for Preschool!

Here are some easy tips to prepare your child for  the first day of preschool.

1. Drive by the school often and talk about school and all the fun things he/ she will do at school.

2. Begin to read stories about going to school.

3. Begin a nightly routine, including a consistent bedtime and wake time

4. Practice putting on removing jackets, and zippering backpacks

5. Create a good by routine

         * Create a personal handshake for good-byes

         * Give a kissing hand

         * Create a silly goodbye phrase

         * Remind your child of the pick-up schedule. "Today Mimi is picking you up"

          * Your child may cry the first few days of drop-off, most settle down quickly. Be prepared to                say goodbye to your child and reassure him/her that you will be back. 

          * Be aware of your emotions; your child will pick up on them
